A Portuguese ship ...
The Bom Jesus turned out to be a very interesting and valuable find: on board were found numerous Spanish and Portuguese gold coins (which helped identify it), about two thousand German copper bars and more than 100 elephant tusks. The total value of these goods is estimated by experts at around 13 million dollars.
The discovery of a ship that disappeared five hundred years ago, found in the African desert with gold coins on board, has become one of the most exciting archaeological finds of recent years.
Bollocks. Need to sack and terminate your AI, This is a photo of a modern ship wreck on the skeleton coast of Namibia, there are several on this coast,. This one is the Eduard Bohlen wrecked in 1909, there’s also the SS Octavia and the Zeila, stranded 2008, they appear to be far inland but are on the coast, the sea usually hidden by the fogs that cover the coast. The coastline here is very changeable due to the prevailing winds blowing the sand dunes, into the sea, and storms moving the accumulated sands up and down the coast, does mean that an old wreck can literally disappear to reappear years later when uncovered by a storm, and also appear to move from the seas edge to quiet away inland before disappearing under a sand dune.
late edit,
Look at the top left corner of the Eduard Bohlen photo, you can see the fog bank that is covering (hiding) the beach, a little of the sea can be just made out to the right of it.
