The Bottle Conjuror Hoax

Image
Kaushik Patowary    Nov 9, 2022    In January 1749, an advertisement appeared on London papers for a new magical performance at the New Theater in Haymarket. An anonymous performer, latter dubbed ‘the Bottle Conjuror,’ was set to perform a variety of near-impossible feats, such as playing “the music of every instrument” on a common walking stick taken from the audience, and enabling any spectator to converse with a deceased person of their choice. But the most startling was the claim that the performer would squeeze himself into a common wine bottle in full view of the audience, and after doing so, the audience would be able to pass the bottle around and inspect the same, reassuring themselves that the magician was indeed contained within it. For days, all London could talk about was the man who was going to stuff himself into a quart bottle. On the appointed day, a huge crowd of eager spectators arrived at the theater to see the act of the century. Even the king's s...

Donald Trump Has Joined Joe Biden in the Ranks of War Criminals

By  Chuck Baldwin Chuck Baldwin Live June 27, 2025 Iran is the kid on the playground that isn’t intimidated by the bully and is willing—and able—to fight back. President Donald Trump not only attacked a sovereign foreign state (Iran) without provocation, without congressional approval and without constitutional or moral justification, he has also joined the likes of Joe Biden and G.W. Bush in the ranks of war criminals. I doubt that anyone in America is more qualified to speak to constitutional and legal (and unconstitutional and illegal) acts than legal scholar Judge Andrew Napolitano. In a recent interview with USMC Major/UN Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter,  Judge Nap said the following : What the president of the United States did was profoundly unconstitutional, absolutely unlawful, was an impeachable offense and was a war crime. Under our Constitution only the Congress can declare war, not the president. And Congress can only declare war on a country that poses an immediat...

In 84 AD, the Roman legions, commanded by the governor of Britain Gnaeus Julius Agricola, marched towards the north of the island to put an end once and for all to the resistance of the Caledonians

Alessandro13   In 84 AD, the Roman legions, commanded by the governor of Britain Gnaeus Julius Agricola, marched towards the north of the island to put an end once and for all to the resistance of the Caledonians The Romans, followed by the fleet, arrived near the “Mons Graupius” (located in Scotland) where the enemy awaited them. Tacitus tells us that the rebels were led by Calgacus, “the most distinguished for valor and nobility among the various leaders,” who launched into a speech full of pathos to encourage his men: “Whenever I think of the situation in which we find ourselves, I nourish the great hope that this day will be the beginning of freedom for all of Britain. For for all of you who are here and who do not know what servitude means, there is no other land beyond this and not even the sea is safe, since the Roman fleet looms over us. But after us there are no more tribes, but only rocks and waves and an even worse scourge, the Romans, against whose arrogance not ...

Israel Seeks to Topple Third Domino as US Assaults Non-Proliferation

Ironic since it is (along with Russia) its chief beneficiary Marko Marjanović Jun 21, 2025 Share Interception outside the atmosphere Iran is firing missiles at Israel from its bases in the east of the country, but i ts missile bases in the west have been suppressed.  Either because IDF strikes have damaged access points or because its aircraft are in the vicinity, firing at launchers when they pop out. This means that until Iranian air defense network recovers, or Israel can no longer maintain the same tempo of sorties,  some one-half of Iran's missile stocks are not available to it. This is t he main reason Iran's initial retaliation has been underwhelming relative to expectations.  While reports that Iran had the capability to a salvo of 1,000 missiles on the first day are probably too grand, over 500 would have been possible, and Israel forecast  up to 4,000 dead on the first day . Instead, Iran mustered a maximum barrage of just 190 launches — fewer than the salv...
